About: We are seeking volunteers to join us in the COS 150: Tree Challenge in honor of the city's sesquicentennial in 2021. The challenge is a nod to Colorado Springs’ long history of conservation and the vision of tree-lined streets initiated by its founder, William Jackson Palmer, nearly 150 years ago.
Impact: The goal of the challenge is to plant and track 18,071 trees by the end of 2021, the year Colorado Springs celebrates its sesquicentennial (150th birthday). In support of the cities goal, UCCS has committed to plant 150 trees on campus. 100 trees have already been planted near the new Hybl center and the last 50 will be planted along the campus spine aka Clyde's Way.
